The book is a collection of essays exploring the potential of multimedia to enrich and transform the planning field. By multimedia the authors refer to a broad range of new information and communication technologies (from film and video to digital ethnography and the internet), which are opening up new possibilities in planning practices, processes, pedagogy and research. The authors document the ways in which these ICTs can expand the language of planning and the creativity of planners; can evoke the lived experience (the spirit, memories, desires) of our 21st century mongrel cities by engaging with stories and storytelling; and can democratise planning practices.

The Flatlanders are three great singer-songwriters from Lubbock in the Texas Panhandle: Joe Ely, Jimmy Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock. They made some brilliant albums by themselves, but the threesome has some added value: three of Texas' best songsmithes combining voices and talent, just awesome.

The Center For Texas Music History (CTMH) has released one live concert and three compilation CDs. Not only do these CDs document and promote the diverse genres of Texas music , they are also important in helping raise money to fund the CTMH’s many programs.

Abbott used the fictional two-dimensional world of Flatland to offer pointed observations on the social hierarchy of Victorian culture. However, the novella's more enduring contribution is its examination of dimensions, for which the novella is still popular amongst mathematics, physics, and computer science students. Several films have been made from the story, including a feature film in 2007 called Flatland. Other efforts have been short or experimental films, including one narrated by Dudley Moore and a short film with Martin Sheen titled Flatland: The Movie.
